My role is new - both for me and for the fast moving consumer goods industry in Thailand. I visited the Diageo office to deliver a presentation on market research and came out with a job offer! That sort of belief in people is very inspiring for me. I like to explore new challenges and give things a go.
The people here are the best and the working environment epitomizes freedom to succeed with zero hierarchy and lots of independence. Each of us takes full ownership for achieving our goals, but you can also ask anyone and everyone for advice and help, Senior colleagues will say to me 'Do you have any thoughts on this?' or 'Do you want to help me here?'. We share knowledge and ideas and the teamwork is seamless and continuous. That's the perfect learning process for me!
We also have great parties and the bar on Friday night is the place to be. The atmosphere is very friendly and I feel encouraged to get out there, communicate and enjoy getting to know my work mates.
The thing that makes Diageo stand out for me is the level of trust and open encouragement we have. The first day I arrived, my boss said to me 'What can I do for you?' He's always behaved like he knows I can do anything I decide. Why would I want to work anywhere else?
